Understand the color temperature

Color temperature, literally, is the temperature of the color.

But in theory, color temperature refers to the absolute black body heating from absolute zero (-273℃), gradually changes from black to red, yellow, white, and finally blue when exposed to heat.


When heated to a certain temperature, the spectral component of the light emitted by the black body is called the color temperature at this temperature, the unit of measurement is "K" (Kelvin). Notably, it is a measure of temperature, commonly used in physics and astronomy. The concept is based on a fictional black object that, when heated to different temperatures, will emit different colors of light and appear different colors. The light we normally see is made up of a spectrum of seven colors, some of which are blue and some of which are red. Color temperature is a method for measuring and calculating the color components of light, which was developed by British physicist Lord Kelvin in the late 19th century. Kelvin worked out a whole method for calculating color temperature based on the wavelength emitted by a black-body radiator, hence the unit named after him.
