On February 3, 2016, President Xi Jinping came to the National Silicon based LED Engineering Technology Research Center of Jiangxi Nanchang University, walked into the laboratory, watched the product display, and listened to the report on LED technology research and industrial development.

The National Silicon based LED Engineering Technology Research Center is a national engineering center approved by the Ministry of Science and Technology of the People's Republic of China and established based on Nanchang University. It is mainly engaged in the research and development of LED high-end equipment MOCVD and LED epitaxy and chip technology. In the acceptance results of the 34 national engineering technology research centers in 2014, the center ranked first among the five national engineering centers with excellent acceptance results by virtue of the first overall acceptance score. On January 8, 2016, the center's Jiangfengyi team won the only first prize of the 2015 National Technological Invention Award for its silicon substrate LED technology project.

President Xi Jinping stressed that China's development must rely on innovation. It is difficult to master the core technology, but this road must be taken. This new industry is promising, and I have high hopes for you.
